6 years fighting against kidney cancer, Vidi Aldiano: Thank you, you have changed me

JAKARTA, UD News Singer Vidi Aldiano shared a touching message right on the anniversary of six years he has been fighting against kidney cancer.

Through a post on his personal Instagram account on Monday (12/15/2025), Vidi reflected on his journey since first being diagnosed at the end of 2019.

Instead of complaining, the singer of "Nuansa Bening" actually refers to her illness as a "gift" from God that brought many positive changes in her life.

"Today is exactly 6 years since I met God's gift, which is cancer," wrote Vidi Aldiano, quoted by UD News from his Instagram account.

This is Sheila Dara Aisha's husband, who revealed that during six years of living with cancer cells, his view of the world has completely changed.

I feel that the priorities of his life have shifted and his way of thinking has undergone a major change.

"Dear, how I see the world, being grateful for things that were never noticed before, and being able to see a trial as a lesson. You have changed me so much," continued Vidi.

Learn Sincerity and Patience

In his writing, Vidi thanked the illness he suffered from.

According to him, cancer has become a teacher who taught him the true meaning of patience and sincerity.

"Thank you, cancer, because of you, I have learned a lot in the last 6 years. The meaning of patience, the meaning of surrender, the meaning of being sincere, and the meaning of loving genuine people completely," wrote Vidi.

Although he has come to terms with his condition, Vidi still holds the hope that his struggle against this illness will soon end with God's permission.

However, for now, he admits that he has fully accepted the condition as part of his life journey.

"Kuharap, our meeting can end as quickly as possible according to the will of the Almighty. However, I fully accept you as part of me for the past 6 years," he concluded.

Medical History

As information, Vidi Aldiano first shared the news about his illness in December 2019.

At that time, he was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer, which forced him to undergo left kidney removal surgery in Singapore.

Although initially declared clean or granted a reprieve, the cancer cells were found to have spread again in 2023.

Since then, Vidi has regularly undergone intensive treatment, which he calls a "spa day," every few weeks to prevent the spread of cancer cells in his body.

Vidi Aldiano is currently on a break from the entertainment world to focus on his recovery.
